The use of decorative stone
Decorative stones and stone mosaics function as quality wall and floor coverings that have a remarkable aesthetic effect. In addition, they bring the elements of nature into every room due to its characteristics. The porosity of natural stones allows rapid transfer of heat through the walls and at the same time, helps improve the acoustics of the room, because the structure of the rock absorbs the sound and consequently reduces echo in the room. The coverings are suitable for wall and floor surfaces. Outdoor use depends on the size of the pattern. Smaller, finer patterns are more suitable for those outdoor surfaces that are not directly exposed to weather changes, e.g. under a roof.
Stone is a natural material, so the structure and colour may vary. Not two stone surfaces are completely alike. Floor surfaces gradually become smoother and therefore more slippery. To reduce slipperiness, we advise the use of coatings, which are available in specialty stores. Natural stone is to be distinguished from artificial decorative stone. Unlike with artificial stone, the interior of natural stone is not a different colour, if you cut it or chip it off.
The lighting of the space is of extreme importance, as it creates an especially elegant effect. The colour shade of the stone depends on the impurities that were present in the air during the formation, while the lighting and the shadows make the stones look alive and timeless.
